Loom Knit Leaf

Someone in one of the Facebook Groups asked if you could knit a leaf on the round KK looms. Here is my rendition of a leaf on the 24 peg kk loom.

All knitting is done with the e-wrap. Leaf is done as a flat panel (knitting back and forth in rows).

Ewrap cast on 3 pegs.
Row 1: Slip first peg, purl next peg, knit last peg.
Row 2: repeat row 1.
Row 3: Increase row. Move the end loops over 1 peg so you have a loop, an empty peg, a loop, an empty peg and a loop. Slip the end peg, wrap the peg, knit one, wrap the empty peg, knit one.
Row 4: Slip, purl, knit, purl, knit
Row 5: Repeat row 4.
Row 6: Increase row. Move end loops the same as in row 3. Slip the end peg, wrap, knit 3, wrap, knit last peg.
Row 7: Slip, purl, knit 3, purl, knit.
Row 8: Repeat row 7.
Row 9: Decrease row. Lift the end loops and place the loop next to them on the peg. (eg:The loop from peg 6 goes on peg 7) put the original loop back on the peg knit off. Move this loop onto the empty peg. You should be down to 5 pegs with loops on them now. Slip the first peg, purl, knit, purl, knit
Row 10: Slip. Purl, knit, purl, knit.
Row 11: Decrease row. Repeat row 9. You should be back down to 3 loops on your loom. Slip, purl, knit.
Row 12. Slip, purl, knit.
Row 13: Decrease by lifting centre loop and placing one of the other loops under it, knit over, lift the loop again, place it on top of the remaining loop and knit over. Wrap and knit. Cut yarn and pull through last loop.

I hope this pattern works for you!

Loom Knit Doll Dress

I started working on this a few weeks ago, but things have a habit of happening and then I forget what I was doing...lol! Any way I made the dress and the wings for this 11 1/2 inch doll on my Martha Stewart loom. I just love this loom and use it almost every day. Now that dolly has her new dress and wings I am working on a loom knit yo-yo doll of some sort. It is taking shape but I'm not quite sure what it is...lol!

Braids and Lace Shawl

I finally put up my Braids and Lace Shawl pattern. I decided that since it has taken me so long to upload it, it will be free at least for now.

If you do make it all I ask is that you do not make a profit from it. I hope you enjoy this pattern.

Just some pics of things I've been working on while I've been a bad blogger...lol!

Also as embarrassing as it is, though I am only human and I admit I was sometimes a stupid teenager, I am also finally working on getting my grade 12. It is a slow and painful process, one I wish I would have done when I was a teenager. I find it very hard to work on this at home. Only two more courses to do but I must tell you it would really help if my memory would quit failing me.

Oh well, there I feel much better admitting that. So if anyone who reads this has recently quit school make sure you go back now before you are in my shoes wishing you had gone back years ago as I know it was really so much easier then than it is now.

hugs,
Cindy

My Bad

I just can't seem to win for losing. If it isn't one thing then it is another. Going to try to set myself up a time table to see if I can manage to start doing all the things I say I want to do. I'm a bad blogger, hopefully one day I'll become a better one.

2010 sucked big time. The only cool thing that happened was I became a grandmother. Other than that I got laid off from my job and still haven't managed to find another one :-( so money is tight. I haven't even picked up a loom in a year, but one of my daughter's friends has just announced that she is expecting so I think I will see about making her something for the baby. I'm thinking booties, a hat, and maybe a little sweater.

I hope everyone has had a better few years than I have had and here's praying I can become a better blogger.

Sending everyone well wishes and prayers for you and yours.

Hugs,
Cindy

WOW

I can't believe it's been over a year since I posted something. Gosh so much has happened I don't know where to start. I still do some loom knitting but it is usually only when I am waiting to pick up one of my children.

I've been looming mostly baby items for my friends' grandchildren, I still don't have the pictures taken though. I'm still working on my camera.

My family and I are all fine, just really busy. My youngest two are both in highschool now and my oldest she's going to be giving me my first Grandchild soon. Wow where has the time gone...it really seems like just yesterday she was a baby herself.

Well I hope everyone had a good 2009 and here is wishing that 2010 is an even better one!

hugs,
Cindy

Update

Being I am back to work now I don't have a lot of time for blogging or knitting, but I have finished a few items on my list of things to do.

I've finished a scarf for my step-father. The one I made him for Christmas was too short so I made a brand new one for him, just have to wait until I can get to Chicago or until my mom and him come here to give it to him.

I've also finished my Braids and Lace Shawl but due to various reasons I haven't been able to take a picture so I can't finish the pattern either, lol.

And last but not least my 5 rectangle baby sweater which I've been using as a work in progress for now has a 6th rectangle to make a cute little hat with a fun fur fringe around it. Since my kids are all grown and I don't have any babies or dolls I will be taking a picture of it some time soon as well. Just have to figure out what is wrong with my camera.

I hope everyone is have a wonderful new year so far!

Hugs,
Cindy
